Michael and I were at a trunk or treat at our church about 7 years ago when I had wassail for the first time. It was ah-mazing! I can remember thinking it was like apple pie in drink form. I had to know who had made it, and wouldn’t you know, it was the old family recipe of one of the church ladies. You are in for a treat my friends!

Ingredients for Crock Pot Wassail
8 cups apple cider
11.3-12 oz can of peach nectar
1 cup orange juice
1 cup cranberry apple juice
2-3 cups sugar, to taste
4 cinnamon sticks
How to Make Wassail in a Crock Pot
Combine all your in ingredients in a 5-6 quart crock pot
Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, stirring occassionally

There are very few differences between mulled cider and Wassail Punch. Both contain spices and some juice. One of the main differences is that mulled wine is often made with whole oranges.However, Wassail is traditionally made with apple juice.
Onion - the One Ingredient You Must Pre-Cook Before Adding to Your Slow Cooker! Never add onions to a slow cooker dish that you haven't sautéed first – I find you get that slight raw onion flavour throughout and it just ruins the dish for me. I really think it's worth the extra effort.
Ginny has been working with slow-cookers for over a decade, and her advice is to use the 'Low' slow cooker settings as much as you can, finding that most dishes really benefit from a slow, gentle heat to really bring out the flavours.
A sweetened blend of black currant, apple, and lemon juices, with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, and orange peel, Trader Joe's Winter Wassail is a fruit punch whose flavors and aromas evoke the holidays. The difference between "High" and "Low" on slow cookers seems to differ with every brand and model. One thing that is consistent, though, is that food takes seven to eight hours to reach a simmer point (around 210°) on low; versus three to four hours on high.

Is it safe to leave a slow cooker on for 12 hours? Yes, you can use your slow cooker for longer than eight hours, as long as you keep an eye on it. Many slow cookers do have an automatic shutoff after 24 hours.
Slow cooker recipes have (obviously) long cook times, and it's the meat—not the carrots—that benefit from it. By placing the protein at the bottom (closest to the heating element), and vegetables at the top, you can keep your plant parts a little more toothsome, while ensuring your meat is fall-apart tender.
The best vegetables for a slow cooker are sturdier veggies like celery, carrots, tomatoes, onions, peppers and green beans, like we used in this recipe. Also, cauliflower, corn, beets, potatoes (both Russet and sweet), mushrooms and squash are all great contenders, too.

Here's the difference between apple cider and apple juice: Apple cider is just unfiltered apple juice that can be served hot or cold. Mulled apple cider is unfiltered apple juice that's been heated and flavored with mulling spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and allspice; and fruits like oranges, lemons, and apples.
