About Laser Hair Removal

Designed with sensitive skin in mind, our Laser Hair Removal technology is safe enough to be used on any part of the body and target different skin types whilst ensuring maximum results. All of our lasers feature a unique dynamic cooling device that helps to calm, soothe and protect the skin.

For your initial course of Laser Hair Removal treatment, we recommend approximately 8-12 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart (depending on area and skin tone). Everyone is slightly different so book a complimentary consultation with one of our Laser Therapists at your nearest clinic location.

At Laser Clinics United Kingdom, we use the world's best lasers from Candela. Due to their larger spot size, we're able to offer shorter and more convenient treatment times than our competitors.

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal Treatments | Laser Clinics United Kingdom (3)

Safe and effective technology

Our Laser Therapists are experienced in operating the market-leading Laser Hair Removal technology - Candela GentleLase Pro and GentleYag Pro, the world’s most efficient hair reduction system. The Candela GentleLASE Pro is designed to work for clients with dark hair and lighter skin, while the GentleYAG Pro works best on a darker skin tone.

Permanent hair reduction

Unlike other hair removal options, our medical-grade Laser Hair Removal means fast, safe, cost-effective, reliable, and permanent hair reduction.

Reduce ingrown hairs

Laser Hair Removal works by directing concentrated light to target the hair follicle at the root. The laser inhibits the hair’s ability to grow without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface, so even the most sensitive skin can be treated.

Convenient & cost effective

We have the most affordable Laser Hair Removal prices and will match any competitor's price. Click herefor details on our Price Match Guarantee.

Laser Hair Removal Treatments | Laser Clinics United Kingdom (7)

Shave

Shave the treatment area the night before your appointment.

No Wax

Do not wax in the 4 weeks leading up to your appointment as pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and treatment to be effective.

Avoid Direct Sunlight

Allow 4 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had direct sun exposure. (Any kind of tanning or active sunbathing, with or without SPF). Allow 2 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had incidental sun exposure (stayed in the shade for the majority of the time during sunny periods, with or without SPF on).

Avoid Using Topical Creams

Avoid using topical creams, moisturisers, body oils, colognes or perfumes to the area being treated 24 hours prior to treatment. Ensure all fake tan is removed and there is no residual fake tan present on the skin 24 hours before your treatment.

If you are unsure, please contact your local clinic and we will be happy to advise you. Please reschedule your appointment if need be.

Post care

There may be some mild heat and redness in areas that have been treated. Soothe any redness and sensitivity with Skinstitut™ Laser Aid. This can be applied liberally for 3-5 days or until the skin has returned to its pre-treatment state.

Things to avoid

For 24 hours post-treatment, avoid shaving, waxing, or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers, and tight restrictive clothing.

Avoid direct sunlight.

Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for a minimum 2 - 4 weeks after your treatment and always use the Skinstitut™ Age Defence 50+ sunscreen to protect the skin and maintain results.

Skincare

Skinstitut™ Glycolic Scrub 14% is recommended to use 5 days post-treatment to ensure the hair is encouraged to shed from the follicle and aid in the treatment of ingrown hairs.

  • How often do I need to get Laser Hair Removal?

Depending on the hair, skin type, and body area being treated, you will require treatments at 4-6 weeks intervals. For the facial area, treatments can be done at 2-4 week intervals. Each part of the facial and body area has a different growing cycle, so hair reduction will vary depending on what stage your follicles are in at the time of the treatment.

After each treatment hair is reduced hence it is important to complete the course of 10 treatments and at consistent intervals for best results. We recommend a series of 8-10 treatments and maintenance treatments every 2-3 months for permanent hair reduction.

  • Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

One of the benefits of Laser Hair Removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. We use an advanced cooling machine in conjunction with our laser device to reduce the heat sensation on the skin and minimise any discomfort.

  • How long should I go in between Laser Hair Removal appointments?

Depending on your hair and skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require treatments at 4-6 week intervals. Each part of the body has a different hair growth cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment.

  • What Laser Hair Removal machines do you use?

At Laser Clinics, we use the world's leading Laser Hair Removal technology. Medical-grade, Candela GentleLASE Pro and GentleYAG Pro. This technology is TGA approved and uses Alexandrite technology to provide the best treatment results. Our advanced cooling machines used in all laser treatments cool your skin before, during and post-treatment to minimise any discomfort.

  • Can I still get Laser Hair Removal if I am pregnant?

Based on current medical advice, we are unable to perform laser hair removal during the first trimester of pregnancy. We advise clients in the second or third trimester of pregnancy, to obtain mandatory medical clearance prior to proceeding with treatment.

  • Can I have Laser Hair Removal over the top of tattoos?

No, unfortunately, we cannot treat over tattoos with our laser. We can treat around the tattooed areas with a gap of 3cm.

  • Do you offer numbing for Laser Hair Removal?

Unfortunately, topical numbing creams are not safe nor effective when doing Laser Hair Removal. The sensation you feel in treatment is not felt on the skin, but in the follicle of the hair. Unfortunately numbing cream cannot penetrate deep enough to minimise discomfort that may be felt at the follicle. Please ensure that no occlusive creams are present on the treatment areas when undergoing laser hair removal treatments.

Ourcustomers must be at least 18years of age to have any laser or skin treatments.

For persons aged 14-17, the Parent/guardian must be present for consultation and first treatment and understand the procedure and aftercare.

We advise that due to hormonal changes/puberty, we do not recommend under 12 years of age.

LCUK may request a valid form of ID to identify the age of the prospective client.

  • Can I get Laser Hair Removal if I have Epilepsy?

Epilepsy sufferers are advised to consult with their doctor about having Laser Hair Removal. An individual will need to obtain medical clearance from their doctor prior to starting treatment. At Laser Clinics United Kingdom, we also offer various options of protective eyewear to ensure your safety at all times during treatment.

  • Can I have Laser Hair Removal if I am on certain medications?

Certain medications can cause photo-sensitivity to the skin and this may affect the skin's reaction to the treatment. These medications are but not limited to oral and topical vitamin A's, antibiotics, and certain anti-depressants. It is best to speak with your medical professional and obtain medical clearance. After obtaining medical clearance, we are able to test patch you with the laser to determine it is safe to commence treatment.
