Fort Ripley Jean Marie Kruchten 1939 — 2024 Jean Marie Kruchten was born June 24, 1939, to Victor and Delima (Carriere) Chounard in Concrete, ND. Jean lived in Cavalier, ND and attended school there through the 8th grade. Jean met the love of her life Michael Kruchten, I on Thanksgiving Day in 1955 and eloped to Mason City, IA on February 21, 1956. The couple made their home in Barrows, until the mid-60s when they moved to Little Falls where they raised two daughters and five sons prior to moving to Pillager. Later, they made their home in Fort Ripley. Jean's primary role was raising her family and taking care of their seven children.
