Does Volcano Bay let you bring food? ›

You are not allowed to bring in coolers, but you can bring in water bottles and food in plastic containers (no glass) if you have a food allergy. While the TapuTapu will help reduce the amount of time you spend in line, don't expect no lines.

Make sure you've got strong swimmers if you plan to do the Ohno and Ohyah drop slides. These two body slides plunge into a 10-foot-deep pool! Volcano Bay does not provide any free towels, so be sure to bring your own if you do not want to rent them (it costs $7, at the time of writing).

We almost always recommend arriving 30-45 minutes before Universal Orlando and Volcano Bay open and 60 minutes before Islands of Adventure open up during regular operating hours or when each park has early park admission.

There are two general types of lockers at Universal: those that charge a flat daily rate, which are located at the front of each theme park and are scattered all throughout Volcano Bay, and then those lockers that are attached to certain rides, which may or may not require payment for use.

Upon entering the park, all guests will receive their complimentary TapuTapu wristband. From there the band is yours to use for the day! Unlike a Disney World Magic Band that you can purchase and take home, this Volcano Bay wristband is not yours to keep.

From tickets to lunch and souvenirs, it's easy to make contactless purchases through the app. Link a card to make purchases using the TapuTapu wearable in Universal Volcano Bay. Set up Universal Pay then scan to pay for food, drinks, snacks and merchandise at participating locations.

Footwear is not permitted on this attraction. Attire with buckles, rivets, or any sharp adornments that could damage the slide, including on or in footwear and jewelry, are not permitted on this attraction. Life jackets are not permitted on this attraction. T-shirts are not permitted on this attraction.

If relaxation, avoiding the crowds on the main beach and being waited on hand and foot are a priority for your family when you visit a water park, cabana rentals at Volcano Bay may be worth it for you.

Volcano Bay operates like any outdoor pool – it will remain open in light rain, possibly close in havier rain, and the park will shut down during severe storms or lightning in the area.

We allow outside food and beverage of the following nature only: Water bottles (individual size and unopened at time of entrance), baby food, fruits and vegetables. Any specific food for health, dietary or religious reasons on an individual size is permitted, subject to approval at the entrance by park security.

All guests must pass through metal detectors at the security hub before you reach Universal CityWalk or the theme parks. Bags, purses and backpacks are subject to X-ray and/or additional inspection. Suitcases and bags with wheels are not allowed.
